Photography: 4 Tips That Should Help Every Beginner

Photography is an art you will never really be done learning. Information sourced from reviewsbird.co.uk elucidates that the best way to keep improving is to practice often, seek other photographers’ advice and always be willing to learn. However, there are various tips you could consider to help you improve on your journey to being a pro photographer They include:

●      Keep Track Of Your Histogram

Histogram is the chart on your camera’s LCD screen – you can buy cameras online if you don’t have one. The far left of the graph chart represents the blacks or the shadows (underexposed), while the far right of the graph chart represents the whites or highlights (overexposed) and the middle is the mid tone. You really don’t want to see the chart skewed to the right hand side, ’cause that means it is blowing up your image, there’s too much light/brightness and  absolutely no detail. And when it skews to the opposite side, this means your  photo is all dark and there’s no detail too. The chart needs to be balanced before you can get a clear image. Understand that it is pretty much very easy to get misled by your  own eyes or the LCD screen, so as long as your histogram chart stays even, you can trust it to produce you a clear photo.

●      Keep Moving

It is very easy to get stuck on one position when taking pictures; and at the end of the day you have to settle for a photo which you could have made so much better by either moving yourself to a better position for nice shots or moving a particular item in the frame out of the way. For instance, taking five photos from the same height, facing the same direction, when you could have switched to a height where you get a better advantage point, or possibly change direction to get photos from other angles.

So you should imbibe changing locations and moving items out of the way to get a different, clear, concise or professional photo…just keep moving!

●      Invest In A Tripod

If you want to get clear and focused photos, you might want to consider getting a tripod. It allows you to experiment with long exposure photography. If you think your shutter picks images fast enough, you would get a better quality photo if you could lock it off with a tripod. With a tripod, you can also add some amazing effects while photographing on a wide range of different photos like cityscape, Rivers, star trails in the sky, cars driving by, to mention but a few.

So get yourself a tripod early, use it often and take it with you everywhere you go!

●      Be Thorough

In photography, there’s a chance you would make a mistake, so it is advisable to slow down and take your time at all times, most especially when taking your training as a photographer.
